Let There Be Cake
Art Performance

On 3rd August 2024, "Let There Be Cake" was performed in Holloway, London. Performers Rosie Reith, Bev Sage, and Jake Fairnie, dressed in white chef’s outfits with neon orange ribbon neckties and tall white hats, made their entrance to the instrumental track "Let There Be Neon," which was renamed for this event as "Let There Be Cake."

Each performer approached a glass cake stand equipped with chocolate brownie cubes, whipped cream canisters, and a selection of colourful fruits, decorations, and sparklers. Their movements were choreographed to align with the rhythm of the music, resulting in the creation of unique cake sculptures.

Lighting, designed by Willie Williams, was used to enhance the visual impact of the performance, adding depth and focus to each cake sculpture.

At the conclusion of the performance, the cakes were shared with the audience, turning the spectators into participants in this celebration of creativity and community.

"Let There Be Cake" was more than just a performance; it was an exploration of sensory delight, interactive performance, artistic expression, and the joy of shared indulgence.
